This sand dollar is absolutely gorgeous and it is an exact replica of a sand dollar we found ourselves! Check out the photos! Sand dollars may look like a shell, but they are not. They are actually related to urchins, sea cucumbers, and sea stars. 

In many island cultures, sand dollars are considered to be mystical creatures resembling a living Mandala. Each delicate sand dollar carries its own distinctive pattern resembling little leaves with branching veins all connecting to a center point. And, according to legend, when sand dollars break open five white doves are released to spread good will and peace across the universe!
